How I implemented the theme?

So, in the game you can reverse the role to the fruits by player or by fruits to the player through the collectible called as "Power Star".

Each time you collect the power star it will take the dino player controls and swap it with fruits and then u need to control the fruits as a player towards the green dino player to count them as high scores.

How to play!

Playing is simple use arrow keys to move left and right collect fruits when label show "move fruits", 

And when it will show "move player" you can move your player to collect fruits.

The main goal of the game is to collect as many as possible fruits to make high scores.

  • Use arrow keys to move your player left and right.
  • Power star will make you stuck at any place and then u have to move your fruits towards player.
  • Avoid the danger bombs.
  • Enjoy the game!
  • Tell us your highscores in the comments!

Notice: Too many people of you asking to add a end for this game. I am working on a wave system and also adding bosses at different highscores and also changing maps and schemes so please wait till the jam ends then I will upload the full jam version of the game.

I like the main idea of the game, where you constantly change roles instead of the concept just being flipped! But I feel that the execution could have been a little better! In the controlling fruits state, you can't really dodge the bombs, and since there's no end to the game, it feels like the bombs don't do much but slow down the flow of the game instead of being something to actively avoid. Other than that, nice game :D

i love the main idea but the gameplay loop wasn't that satisfying. There is no loss state so the high score feels unearned. The bombs are unavoidable when you're in the fruit state so it feels like dodging the star fruit may actually be better. (though i like it gives you so many points) To fix these I would make the bombs damage the player and the star gives them a heart instead of points. Additionally, since the bombs and fruit have collisions why not make it where if you hit the bomb as the fruit it moves/gets destroyed? I think with these changes you have an extremely fun interesting game for this jam.

Glitches:

Sometimes the star fruit took eating multiple times to change states. 

The dino player got pushed under the environment where I could only see their head. They could still collect fruit and move though. 

Fruit took why too long to respawn after taking control of it.
